If you’ve worked with our HVAC team, there’s a good chance you’ve experienced the leadership and expertise of Andrei Lowry, our Regional HVAC Service Manager. Andrei’s leadership ensures that every system is installed correctly and every customer receives the dependable service they deserve. Get to know him a little better - and if you get the chance, ask about his Vampire roots.
Where are you from?
I was born in Petroșani, Romania, in a beautiful valley town of the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania. You could say I have pure Dracula blood! More importantly, I grew up with a grandfather who got me interested in tinkering with projects around the farm, sometimes by choice, and sometimes out of necessity.
While I briefly studied accounting at Business High School, I quickly realized my heart wasn’t in the numbers as much as it was in the "how" of things. I followed that passion to the University of Petroșani, where I enrolled in the Environmental Engineering program.
What made you want to come to Michigan?
Well life as I knew it changed when I met my wife, a Peace Corps volunteer serving in Romania. Since she was a Lansing native, Michigan became our "home base" for the family support we needed. We moved here in 2000 and have been Michiganders ever since.
How long have you been in the HVAC industry?
I joined the HVAC industry in 2001 as a helper and have never stopped developing my skillset. My career path took me from being a helper to a Lead Technician at Capitol Supply & Service (2001–2014) to owning my own business, Pioneer Heating and Cooling (2014–2021). Since 2021, I’ve been proud to serve in my Regional Service Manger role and bring some of my experience to the Style Crest team.
What drives you?
I’ve always been a goal-oriented person, but my definition of growth has evolved. To me, the best part of this job is the team. While working with people has its challenges, I love watching them grow in their roles and helping them succeed. I believe a positive culture is healthy for any organization, and I’ve found that personal growth is best measured by your ability to help the people around you reach their own goals.
What are your passions outside of work?
Most people who know me will agree that my biggest passion is boating. It’s not just about the sun and the water. I love the tinkering part of it as well and working on boat projects with my friends at the marina. Living in Michigan, skiing and biking have also been big parts of my hobby list, though as I get older, they seem to be taking second place to my time on the water.
