# 3 ways to improve energy efficiency of your mobile home

No one likes wasting their money. But unfortunately, manufactured homes are notorious for being inefficient when it comes to energy usage. ###   Update Doors and Windows

   
Multiple sources agree that doors and windows can be the sources of 30 - 40% of a manufactured home’s total heat loss. By updating them with quality replacements, you can seal in the air so that your air conditioner and furnace run less frequently.

Vinyl minimizes heat transfer, while aluminum conducts heat and makes rooms warmer in summer.  When updating exterior doors, go with fiberglass or insulated steel, and make sure the frame fits tightly. This will ensure a more consistent interior temperature.

### Modernize Your HVAC System  

When it comes to HVAC systems and energy efficiency, older systems can’t compete with newer ones. Upgrading to a modern furnace and air conditioner will result in your systems running less frequently and help you compile energy savings over time.  

In fact, minimum SEER rating and testing requirements changed as of January 1, 2023, with the goal of increasing minimum efficiency by 810%. So now is a good time to upgrade to newer SEER HVAC equipment.
